It is an unusual creation, perhaps made for a foreign market in 14 carat white gold.
Showcasing wonderful Art Deco design, its white gold case bejeweled with twelve rose cut diamonds that appear to be Rolex factory set is stunning.
Complementing the case is its metallic silver dial complete with Art Deco numerals. This cocktail watch added the perfect finishing touch to outfits worn to galas, award ceremonies, or other special gatherings.
Our photos couldn't do it justice. Each diamond section is fully beaded around the edge and the sides of the case are Rolex factory hand-decorated.
For the movement, Rolex used an unusually high quality engine. It uses the same principles as Rolex's mens celebrated movement for the famed Prince. It is oval and features an oversized winding barrel and balance wheel. By placing these two mechanisms at opposite ends of the movement the watch achieves incredible levels of accuracy and carries a longer power reserve, enabling it to run longer and more accurately on a single wind.
While during the period at times Rolex put designations, like "Prima Quality", on high-performing mens watches, their ladies movement often did not carry a designation, although this one does. And like a mens Prince it was originally adjusted to six positions, like only the top-tier of watches.
We were fortunate to acquire it with all of its original parts intact.
Its white gold case is in better than near mint condition. The Rolex factory stamped serial number on the outside is still strong. Its silver dial is bright and clean.
It has just been serviced. Amazingly, after nearly a century its extremely fine handwound Rolex movement is still keeping time like new in our testing position.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new black cord strap that replicates the look of the original making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
